The Glory Hounds were one of the biggest British rock bands of the early 90s. They had money, fame, groupies and more drugs than they could handle. Even after the inevitable breakup–and breakdown–most of the band’s former members have done pretty well for themselves.
But every gravy train dries up eventually, and for former Glory Hounds bassist Ian Medley, that time has come. After over a decade of fast living, followed by expensive rehab clinics and a still more expensive divorce settlement, practically everything from the glorious heyday of his career is now gone.
Now sober and single–and trying to pretend to be happy about both–Medley has no money, no pride and no prospects. Until he comes up with a cunning plan. His path back to wealth and success will have to involve music–it’s the only thing he knows how to do–so surely the logical solution is to… manage a band?
And not just any band–a manufactured rock band. Sure. Makes perfect sense.
Medley has started scouting for talent, assembling a band from the finest musicians his trained ear can pick out. This has to work. If it doesn’t, he will never have another chance. But what could possibly go wrong? It’s not like a band formed from a group of total strangers could ever be a hotbed for drama… right?
Someone had better be filming this soon-to-be shitshow for a web documentary…
This is a game about a rock band. A manufactured Frankenstein’s Monster of a rock band, cobbled together by a man who really ought to know better but probably had his wits addled by drugs sometime in the 90s. You are a musician who is, for whatever reason, willing to join a totally manufactured band project.
The game starts in Leeds in early 2015. As the story progresses, the action will likely move to other parts of the UK. Your character does not have to be British, but if they are not you should explain why they are in the country.
Intended for 4-6 players who are prepared to make at least 2-3 moves a week.
May contain strong language and references to sex, drugs and alcohol.
