Welcome to A.N.I.C., kids. I’m Wizard, your assigned handler for the near future. I’ll be briefing you on your upcoming mission, but first we have to sort out some important details.
First and foremost, I’m in charge. I’m the only person on this team in direct communication with The Surface, so what I say goes. I’ll be in communication with you in the field, setting up supply drops, coordinating your transportation, and acting as general liaison between your team and the rest of the agency. Every action you make in the field reflects directly on to me. So please, be gentle.
Rule number two, there’s no crying in baseball.
Rule number three, I’m absolutely open to attempts at bribery if any of you happen to be carrying something expensive or barrel-aged.
Our client is paying a lot of money if we haul this in, so get settled in and meet back here in 15 to go over the details. The sooner we get started, the better.
**Character Creation Info: You are a superspy, hired by an independent intelligence service called A.N.I.C. You might be a freelance professional that the company has approached, or an in-house agent trained from within. All you know is that they pay well to get results.
This will be an action/intrigue spy game set in the present day, with elements of fictional super science. The story is influenced by actual historical events, though obviously with big twists. I will likely be posing you with puzzles to solve from time-to-time.
When filling out your character’s name, please make it their code name, but also include their actual first and last name when you fill out your dossier. Keep in mind that A.N.I.C. performs full background checks the way only a spy agency could, so any serious liabilities in your past would have to be balanced out by the benefits you bring to the team.
