Greetings, Beta Complex Troubleshooter! The Computer is pleased to inform you that your security clearance has been upgraded from Infrared to Red, and you will no longer be required to consume the mandatory three-a-day happiness supplement. One-a-day will be sufficient!
Please consume your required supplement and report immediately to your orange clearance supervisor. They will assign your first mission.
Congratulations again, Troubleshooter!
The Computer
==============
This game is a loving tribute to the Paranoia RPG. We’ll be attempting to convert it for Storium’s usage. Subplots are now your Secret Societies, and your Weaknesses must be Mutations. These can develop and change over time.
At the first scene I will assign you Clone Asset cards, which you will play upon the respawn of your character, be it from your own narrative death or your fellow players. (You’ll die a lot, so don’t worry.) You’ll have plenty of chances to earn more Clones. And since Paranoia is traditionally a tongue-in-cheek, PvP styled game, you must be willing to allow other players to write about, maim, and otherwise destroy your character.
It’s all in the spirit of a good time. If, at any point, it becomes not in said spirit, your friend The Computer (me) will eliminate Troubleshooters who become Communists.
If you’ve never played Paranoia, that’s fine! Your knowledge is limited by your security clearance, so no one really knows what’s going on.
Except The Computer. But The Computer only wants what’s best for you. Promise.
STYLE: Dystopian, humorous, sci-fi (analog styled tech, think bad 1980’s sci-fi movies, where everyone has laser guns but the computers fill rooms and monitors are all CRT black-and-green)
WARNING: I am looking for very active players who want to post quickly to keep the pace of this game alive. A post a day is encouraged and failure to post within 1-2 days (or at least comment to let us know you’re busy) will be grounds for termination.
Thank you, Troubleshooter. Please report to the nearest termination–err–creation center. The Computer appreciates your continued cooperation.
