Pantheons

Pantheons is a Storium game about two ideologically opposed pantheons and their struggle to shape the mortal world to their own liking, while preventing the other pantheon from doing the same.

The player characters will be members of the Pantheon of Principality, a pantheon with humane mindsets and morals. Members of this pantheon are called Princes. Princes are gods derived from a cosmic divine force called the Principle.

The Princes will be opposed by the Pantheon of Anathema, a pantheon with alien mindsets and morals. Members of this pantheon are called Adversaries. Adversaries are gods derived from a cosmic divine force called the Antithesis.

I’m looking for 6 to 12 players to play Princes and work together as a team and family. There will be no NPC Princes, so the characters you make will comprise the entire Pantheon of Principality.

Each Prince will be god of multiple domains that should tie together thematically to create a complex, three-dimensional character. Princes aren’t perfect, but they are principled beings who strive to do the right thing, even if they’re sometimes ruthless or even cruel about it.

The game itself will be about shaping the mortal world, Natura, as well as combating the Adversaries in their efforts to do the same. There will be building, politics, war, and generally just tons of creativity. You can create species, nations, continents, oceans, moons, underworlds, sky palaces, and just about anything else you can dream of. Natura will begin as a totally blank slate; even your home planet will be built by you from the ground up. You’ll also have to defend your creations, even as you attack the creations of the Adversaries in an effort to keep Natura pure and true to your vision.

I intend to give you guys stuff to react to, but I also intend for you guys to make your own magic and play an active hand in shaping the course of the story.

The constant war between pantheons is a fundamental aspect of the setting and story, and can’t ever be permanently won or otherwise ended. The Adversaries and Princes both honestly believe, down to their very cores, that they alone have a sacred and holy right to influence Natura, and a sacred obligation to prevent the other pantheon from doing the same.

Cards and Art:

Please take “Prince” as your Nature card. You can take or leave the other premade cards as you desire.

Avatar pictures are required. Card art is strongly preferred, but not required. If you are having any trouble finding art, I would be glad to help search!

Please put citations on your cards! I’m not going to fuss about where pictures came from, but let’s at least link back to the site you found them from; it seems only polite.

Please try to find art that feels appropriate for a fantasy/gods game. While a lot of the Google search results for a trait like “selfish” are cute demotivational posters that would go great in a Fallout game or a modern game, they wouldn’t really fit the ambiance of a game about warring pantheons.

Please feel free to change any art on cards I’ve already made. I honestly wasn’t happy with what I found for the Weakness cards anyway.

Biographies:

Please include in your biography what generation you are from (Light/Dark, Tempest, or Life/Foundations), who you are related to, and so on. It’s fine if you need to edit your bio later once all the relationships and such are pinned down.

Please write your bio while keeping in mind that nothing has yet happened, temporally speaking, when the game begins, so your god has not yet achieved anything. You may write about your god’s inclinations, personality, and power, but please don’t list what they’ve built or anything yet.
