Detroit’s 636 murders in 1985 gave it the highest murder rate of the nation’s largest cities, a rate more than twice that of Chicago.
But by the end of 1986, the number of murders had soared to 10 more than the previous year’s, among them the deaths of 43 children under 16 years old.
With several vicious gang wars exploding, drugs going rampant, and abuse taking place in every nook, how will anyone survive in detroit now that it’s offically 1987?
