Many people are content to live their entire lives within the boundaries of the law. You are not one of them. You’re a criminal. You’ve traded a life of stability and predictability for risk and danger. One where the potential for reward is much greater… If you can stay alive.
If you’re going to be a criminal, you’ve picked the right place to do so. The city of Viva is completely run by crime. About a decade ago, the federal government completely gave up on the entire state. (unofficially of course) They realized it was far less expensive to stop the media from reporting the crime than it was to stop the criminals. There is still local law enforcement, but without the backing of the government for reinforcements, they are no more powerful than any other organization.
There are a number of criminal powers at play. At the start of the story, you are working for a low level mobster in the Italian Mafia. However you came to work under him, you can’t be too happy about it. He is an ambitious, arrogant, fool, who has little regard for your lives. Not a great combination for a boss.
Whatever brought you to this life, you are here now. You may be at the bottom, but the great thing about this business: There’s always room for advancement, if you’re creative. Do you have what it takes to climb the ladder?
