“So you want to hear about Arkham, do you?”
You can see a hand crawl from the hand rest of his wheelchair to a glass of whiskey on the table beside him.
“Well lads and lassies, I suggest you take up a seat, this ain’t no tale for the faint of heart.”
You catch a glimpse of his tanned face and white hair as he leans forward to stoke the fire. His nurse, a buxom blonde, appears out of the shadows and places her hand on his shoulder, “Please, Mr. McMann, the doctor said you need to rest.”
He smiles. “Thank you, Miss Quigley.” He hands her the fireplace poker so she can finish stirring up the fire. “This is a story I’ve wanted to tell for a long time. It’s a story that must be told for those that pulled me out of that hell hole and those that didn’t quite all come back…”
“Once Upon a Nightmare” is a tale set in present day Providence, Rhode Island in and around Arkham Asylum and Arkham University areas. This story includes glimpses into the Cthulhu mythos, occult, conspiracies, and other things which happen behind the veil of reality.
We’ll be telling this in the limited third person point of view (POV) in present tense.
