There is something ominous going down in the city of Denmik, the capitol of our enemies of Florentine. Bad omens have been showing up in fortune tellers across the land, the dreams of the main priestess of the war goddess, Sstrickl, and rather dramatically scorched onto the wall in the audience room of the castle.
However, investigating this is a nightmare for diplomacy. Our kingdom is still recovering from the last war coupled by a nasty famine. We have a fragile truce with Denmik that we hope to keep till we are recovered.
Eventually the council decides to send a small group to investigate discretely, with the interested powers choosing one representative each. The queen sends her champion, a skilled warrior. The council sends their most valued diplomat, who may or may not have been a spy. The priesthood and the oracles send an up-and-coming member with much promise.
The three will join forces of the rival factions to report - or defeat - whatever forces the omens are warning about…
