Thorndale looks like a typical big city, with its skyscrapers, historic buildings, and bad neighbourhoods, but little is as it seems. Behind every face, however friendly, there may lurk something else, often something… hungry. Beneath the façade shown to mundanes, there’s a complex and highly competitive society of unnatural beings vying for power and trying to get their own way, with one single golden rule: don’t scare the cattle.
Lately, something new has come to Thorndale. Something… unknown. Vampires can feel it in the currents of power, werewolves in the tug of their urges, and magic practitioners in the energy flows. There is something strange in thorndale, and nobody knows what it is, what it wants, or what it will do to get it.
The situation is unusual enough that supernaturals have made a temporary truce, and appointed a taskforce to investigate. Hopefully, with all the powers of the city joined together, they will be able to discover the source of the changes, without restarting the ever-present conflict. Of course, suspicion and politics mean not all is as it seems. Perhaps some of the appointed members of the force have been selected with less than pure motives. Someone might not want it to succeed. Maybe the new, eldrich force in the city might have placed their own agent.
