Playlist I made of songs that inspired me/fit the vibe I’m going for: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZZRl4XQD9nI&list=PLGnCuvBJ8TRqa8vxAWzgN3cHZ9RAWvLQZ
Please read everything in the host and player things to know section. I know it’s a lot, but that is where the important information is and I’ve been working on this for a long time so I want it to go very well. That’s why there’s a lot: so we as narrator and player can better understand each other. If you have questions you can post them in the lobby or PM me.
This game is set in modern day England. It’s a modern day take on if people were to find Narnia. I will be picky with characters as I plan on putting a lot of effort into this and making it my best writing and well planned for once in my life.
The world is an uncertain place and you’ve been trapped in its whims for your whole life and you long for an escape. Perhaps you never let go of the hand of childlike wonder or just want to escape the life you’ve been stuck in. Whatever your reason you beg for an escape.
Today is your first day at your new boarding school: Minfred Preparatory School. The building towers over you, as ominous as old, yet it seems to you to hold a promise. A promise of change, adventure, freedom. Something in the aged walls screams it’s promise to you and you can’t help but submit.
This story will start with all the characters at the boarding school minus any Narnians
Narnia… it has been over a thousand years since an outsider has visited it’s lands. Like any land left unmonitored, evil has dug its heels in and taken the reigns. Every group fragmented and fighting. Dwarf to dwarf, centaur to centaur, satyr to satyr, and at the seat of it all the High Dark King: Screwtape. A demon trapped out of our realm and left in Narnia where he has enjoyed great success in causing chaos, anger, and confusion.
There are two main groups: The Talicantian and the Aslanians. Both consider themselves Narnians still.
The Talicantian are mainly comprised of dwarves, fauns, and dryads. Of course there are exceptions. The Talicantians are characterized as those with little to no belief in Aslan who believe that too much waiting has been done. The time to act is now and, obviously, they deserve the power.
The Aslanians, as the name implies, have a firm belief that Aslan will restore peace to the land. They are composed mostly of minotaur, talking animals, and centaurs. Like the Talicantians they have been blinded by the call of power and see themselves as rightful leaders of Narnia.
Of course there are smaller groups such as the Unaffilated, Mansrians, and Nunips. These groups are seen as largely inconsequential. Narnian characters can be part of any affiliation they would like or can make their own if they PM me first.
Sample of how the story will be written. (Character used is Torrence)
I licked my lips before placing the pan pipes and beginning a light hearted tune. It bounced like a bumblebee across a field of flowers. It was my favorite song I knew. It wasn’t so much the sweet song itself, but rather the memory in my mind.
He was younger then. A sickly looking white satyr just learning how to play. He trips a bit over his own feet as he plays in grass up to his chest. The stream flows softly in the background offering a comforting back drop to his tune. Then he sees him. In the corner of his eye a lion cub. The cub smiles at him and joins in his prancing. As they dance the lion begins to sing.
I could never remember the words, but I did know one thing: that cub was Aslan. That memory had burned so fully in my brain. I could almost imagine the lion by me now. A mane made of wheat, eyes of the sun, and smile full of joy untouched by cruelty.
Today I was alone though. Just me and my music as I danced. I wasn’t by a stream, but a pond with a small waterfall feeding in to it. The air was filled with spring to the point it was bursting over into summer. I played for the wind, for the trees, for the water, and for Aslan.
“You! State your game, Satyr?” A gruff voice interrupted and the music came to a halt like a train crash.
NARNIAN RACES
Dwarves- Short in stature and seen across all media types. These beings are stubborn, strong, and skilled fighters as well as craftsmen. Always good to have on your side. Skilled with any weapon they can wield.
Fauns- Not to be confused with satyrs. They are shorter and more sure footed. They are also seen as harder workers than they’re counterparts. More diligent. They are also usually hairier with longer tails. They are most skilled with Warhammers and halberds.
Satyrs- Not to be confused with fauns. They are light hearted creatures know for being full of music and fun, but they know how to hold their own in a fight. Most are skilled swordsman and several others skilled in healing.
Minotaur- Big, powerful, and angry. They are primarily guards and are most skilled with battle axes. Not much for negotiation as they believe actions speak louder than words. They have the head of a bull and body of a man though some also have reversed legs like a bull too.
Dryads- Nature beings tied tightly to trees, flowers, water, stone, or almost anything else in nature. They are generally peaceful, but when they do become violent you better watch out.
Druids- Humanoid Narnians with a special relation to the four elements. Most are close with the dryads of their particular elements. (Earth close to Tree, Air to Wind, Water to Water, and Fire to Fire).
The Trees- Some of the oldest beings in Narnia. They are rarely bothered by the affairs of others unless Aslan becomes involved. Only fully un-romancable characters
Talking Animals- A gift given by Aslan to some animals to allow them speech. They can choose to learn to fight, or simple continue on as they like. talking animals are ONLY romancable by other talking animals
Centaurs- Half horse, half man. For the most part fiercely loyal to Aslan and the old ways. They are intelligent creatures known to be observant as well as skilled fighters.
Telmarine- A group of pirates who once found a cave that sent them to Narnia’s descendants in Narnia. Known for being problematic in the past they have since become a well respected member of Narnian hierarchy.
If you have another race you’d like to play feel free to ask me about it. I’ll probably be okay with it.
