The land of Kalindor has been ruled by the undead wizard King Melifaxus for one hundred and fifty four years. From the Deral Sea in the south to the Everfrost Peaks in the north, all pay homage to King Melifaxus or are brought to heel by his undead legionnaires.
The Lich King Melifaxus liked to make trophies out of heroes attempting to end his reign. Those who did not end up dead became statues to decorate his castle.
The last thing you remember is wielding sword, spell, or stealth to rid your country of its tyrannous monarch.
You awaken in a country garden. The stiffness of your stony form slowly ebbs from your body. All your joints stiff, but becoming more limber by the moment.
The sun is shining down upon you in this bright and green place. You notice other statues around you returning to flesh as you did.
