Are you a foodie? A gastronomic dreamer? A gourmand? Can you whip up a mouth-watering meal with one hand tied behind your back? Then you may be perfect for… Masterchef: Storium!
This is intended as a fun exploration of what may be a great concept - or a complete dud. Either way we’ll have fun!
Modelled after the Masterchef/Iron Chef/cooking competition type shows, this game will see several talented chefs come together to compete for the ultimate prize. This means that characters will be eliminated from the show chapter by chapter - but they might still stick around behind the scenes!
The story will be as much about interpersonal interaction as it is about the food, so please be ready to develop your characters ‘on-screen’ as it were - otherwise they might get sent home for putting the audience at home to sleep. Think of Gordon Ramsay or Chef Marcel - it’s all about the attitude!
When putting characters together please think about the characteristics that make them a) interesting to watch and b) good chefs. Strengths and weaknesses may come into play in on-air challenges, when your character is expected to produce a gourmet meal, or behind the scenes with other characters. Feel free to make your own natures, strengths, weaknesses, and subplots, the more creative the better.
Because this game will necessarily involve a lot of writing about food, please describe your character’s favourite meal in your profile.
Only the best will be taken, but even if you don’t make it through the try-outs you can still watch - and vote - for who you think should be the ultimate winner!
EDIT: We’ve got a very male-heavy cast so far… would love some women as well!
