In a digital world, analog becomes priceless.
When music became bytes in memory, phonograph records became desirable. When text was digitized, paper books became prized collector objects. And when virtual reality became quotidian, real life suddenly became the pleasure of the obscenely rich.
Once a year, though, everything changes.
Once it was called Saturnalia; now it is Apotheosis. Winter Solstice - the one night of the year where the rabble are set loose in the world, and a select few are invited to partake in mystical rites meant to balance the scales of equality (well, spiritually, at least; mundane things like balancing the social safety net…that’s just plain crazy talk).
You’ve been selected, by lottery, to attend the national Apotheosis rite - the grand Masquerade - and it’s a great honor. A once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.
Perhaps literally.
You have no idea where you’re going, what you’re in for when you get there, or even why the masquerade is shrouded in such secrecy. After all, former attendees refuse to talk about it - their faces completely blank as they recite the standard lines of how it’s an honor to be chosen…
But it’s here, you received your ticket, and you’ve arrived at the transportation hub as instructed, and it’s too late to back out now…

Character Submission:
This will be a fast-paced, delimited short-ish game that tells the story of the events of one fateful evening in the characters’ lives.
- Please use the cards provided; they’re relevant to the game.
- Characters may come from any walk of life - professional, artistic, even criminal.
- Please keep in mind that this will not be a frothy, light-hearted romp; you need to be comfortable with mature content. Further, there will be adult situations involved, so 18+, please!
- Players will be expected and encouraged to interact and chat with each other outside of the game, so as to enhance the experience.
