What does it take for a young ballplayer to rise through the minors and make to the Big Show? What are the struggles for the boys of summer?
This is the story of small towns and baseball in America, pursuing dreams on a shoestring budget.
You’ll play a member of the independent minor league baseball team called the Rail City Rumblers. Rail City is a speck of a town in the middle of nowhere special criss-crossed by several railways.
As a minor league ballplayer, you’ll spend half the year living with a host family and playing baseball. Your salary will be pitiful, the bus rides to away games will be interminable, and your chances of attracting the notice of a major league ballclub are woefully small.
Despite all that’s stacked against you, you’re here for the hope, the dream of “making the bigs”, to earn promotion to the pros. Whether it’s for fame, money, honor or competition, something inside you drives you to this.
It won’t be easy.
