A long time ago, scientists discovered that planets they were observing were starting to disappear. They couldn’t understand why, until one day they finally spotted a massive creature that seemed to be the one destroying them. They named this creature Mhannu. Some people thought it was a god. Scientists refuted this claim, but also said it was the closest thing they’d ever seen to what could be described as a god. There could be more of these creatures out there. However, that was not the pressing issue at the moment.
The pressing issue was that Mhannu was headed directly for Earth. We seemed to be next in the path. That’s when as a collective the Earth united to shuttle off this rock as quickly as possible. Now, for centuries, we’ve been spreading out into the far reaches of space looking for viable homes and setting up outposts. We’ve become the drifters of the universe.
The ship we’ll be following is called Light of the Gods, privately owned and captained by Benedict Fontaine.
