Set in a fictional proxy of WWII Britain the story will be formed from two parts.
The narrator portion will consist primarily of news reports or other sources which provide the wider view of what is happening in the world as the war progresses to provide a backdrop.
The player part will be an individual, ideally back at home rather than at the front, providing an individual perspective as they live through the events, perhaps in the form of diary entries and/or letters or whatever feels appropriate.
Some entries may relate directly to the “news” narrative while others may seem to ignore it totally as and when the broader picture impinges upon the character’s ordinary existence.
Some events may have a significant affect or influence on the character’s action or emotional state; others may seem to be an irrelevance at a distant remove; others still may straddle the line by influencing the character’s general mood without having any direct effect.
That is up to you.
The fictional setting is simply to avoid confusion with he real events of WWII whilst avoiding an anticipation of those events to come but for all intents and purposes you may consider your setting to be broadly equivalent to Britain in mid-1939 at the start with potential war upon the horizon but with hope for peace remaining.
Timing of events will vary greatly, sometimes moving daily or even hourly if your narrative dictates it; other times skipping weeks or months to move onto the next significant event.
