The quest will have trials and tribulations, with the focus of character development.
Lieah: There is so much, mostly focused on three major powers: the Keshanii Empire, the Northern Confederacy (is north of Empire and Hawker’s) and the Most Serene Republic of Hawker’s Corners. There are four Elven Queendoms and the Great Western Wood. Then there are various smaller groups of Elves. One Orc nation is part of the Keshanii Empire; several Orc nations, tribes, etc. part of the Northern Confederacy.
Other races scattered all over the place.
There are a huge cast of NPC’s.
The Daemonjaeger pantheon is the most recent one.
The gods known by our world are old gods, still in places.
The Elder Gods preceded them.
The Ancient Gods are a pretty nasty bunch, very few of them still exist on this plane. They created races based on the Elves who wandered on to Lieah while they fled some unspecified disaster. They morphed from daemons to gods by the worship of those they created.
There are 15 main colleges plus other ones that have been created. There are Talents, Spells and Rituals for each college (Greater Summoning has only Rituals.) Magic has gesture and verbal elements, in some Rituals there are material elements.
In Lieah magic is going through a renaissance, starting about 150+ years ago. The Mage Guild is a political power, tolerance of adventurers using magic, but opposes use of damaging magic in public and in war (slowly losing that).
