Ten years ago you fought by his side, raised arms against his foes and led his armies. Together you gave him a crown and then went your separate ways, content you had done your duty and earned a good life. For many years this was true.
Now you hear creeping rumours from the capital that all is not well. Bandits plague the once-safe roads. Crops are failing and strange creatures have been sighted in the forests, snatching innocents who dare wander too close. What’s more, the King has declared you an enemy of the state, untrustworthy and guilty of treason.
What has wrought these changes? Why has your friend turned against you? Can it be stopped? You must answer these questions while weathering the ire of those who once idolised you and facing the fact that what was is no more.
