Working at the first hospital in rural Indiana was never going to be easy. Hillcrest isn’t a town that welcomes outsiders, or people with fancy degrees, but their population is at risk for a bevy of fascinating and complicated illnesses.
Hillcrest Hospital opened with a donation by the town’s richest family, the McMaths, whose youngest daughter died from an influenza-like virus five years ago. The town is still mourning Eliza’s death, and blame the hospital in the next town over, who misdiagnosed Eliza with a mild cold and ignored her increasingly dire symptoms.
Hillcrest Hospital, created in the shadow of tragedy, is working diligently to gain the trust of the townspeople and assure that no more mistakes will be made. But best laid plans…
