You are the lowest of all the creatures in the realm, a goblin. Small and unremarkable. There have been no great tales woven about the accomplishments of any of your kin. Most of your kind are too dumb to even notice. The only reason your race has survived as long as it has is sheer numbers. You multiply like rabbits. Goblins will put anything into into their gaping mouths, it doesn’t matter if it is alive or even poisoned. Most other creatures consider you a nuisances at best, and most want to see you dead on sight.
However something changed inside you, and select others in your cave dwelling. You awoke and felt different. You looked around and felt a need to do something more with your life than go bring back food, and squabble with your clan-mates about who gets the last bone. You don’t know if it was the food (although, highly unlikely, your diet has not been something anyone would brag about) or something inside you just popped. You want to be written about in tales, sung about in taverns. The world is your oyster, and you want a piece of it for yourself…or at least recognized as a sentient species.
[This will be my first time as a narrator. So if you sign up, bear with me. This will be a fairly silly quest. Whatever motley crew comes about will face lot’s of silly challenges, and your strengths are impressive–for the lesser beings of goblins. Feel free to make your own cards, and make sure you don’t take this too seriously.]
