There have always been titans.
Most of the time, they’re not a threat. They’re dangerous if you provoke them or if you go into their territory, and a hungry titan is a terrible thing to behold, but we have learned to coexist with them.
Mostly.
Titans live a very long time, and they have no natural predators. Sometimes the population gets too large, forces us to take action. That’s when we hold a Hunt.
Raised from birth, bonded to a wraith, and taught to use the unclean pact as a weapon, the Hunters are our only line of defense against the titans. They’re outsiders, dangerous to themselves and everyone around them, but they’re all we have.
