When Nora was fourteen, her mother was shot in a robbery and died of blood loss later that night. Nora only just about escaped by hiding under a table, and several friends of hers died. Before her mother died, she said, ‘Hey… Nora… It’s okay, you’ll be fine… Promise me you’ll look after yourself, no matter how hard it gets? It’s okay, don’t bother trying to help me now, go help the others Nora. Goodbye’. This and all these memories, are what caused Nora’s PTSD.
Nora is now twenty-one, and still has her PTSD episodes. She feels she is ‘too broken for love’ and needs someone to help her realise this isn’t true. She doesn’t want people to find out about her PTSD, because she thinks they will think she’s weak, and will pity her. She thinks she’s unstable, but really, she’s just lonely.
She doesn’t like crowds much, and doesn’t talk of the past.
But can a new friendship and even newer love change her mind?
When Nora meets Saora, she feels happy, and the thoughts and memories that haunt her, disappear while she is with Saora, but is she willing to take this into a relationship, when she still believes she is broken, and Saora deserves better than her? And is Saora the only cure for Nora’s PTSD and broken heart?
