Louis slumped down on the large throne, built for a man, not a child. “Ich brauche dich , um sicherzustellen, dass jeder hören, für den Ball. Zu meinem Geburtstag “ he yawned, waving away the two couriers, who split from the throne room with haste. It was time to get those invitations set out.
Luis the Child. The Monarch of East Francia. It was early September, close to his birthday. He wanted to have a grand ball for his birthday. He wanted to have all the lords and ladies of his fathers court, now his court. The Carolingian dysnasty, his dysnasty. His father Emperor Arnulf and his mother Ota had passes away years ago.
HIs two brothers, ruling in countries, none of his buinsess unless they started a war. Lous had taken the throne at the mere age of six. He hated the word six, too close to the word sick.
Sick. Something he was all to familiar with. But now, now he was 16 , he was finally taking control of his military power. His eyes flickered over to the man at his side , his two most important and trusted councillors. Hatto 1 , Archbishop of Mainz and Solomon III Bishop of Constance.
They were his two most trusted people in his life, more so than his brothers. He nodded his thanks, taking the guest list that was presented to him, his eyes flickering over the eldigible women attending his party. That was importance. But, so were the young men attending his party. They would be vying for places inside of his inner circle.
All important. If the news of the troops being gathered by his enemies held any truth. He would need as many minds as possible. He folded the long list carefully. Arrivals would start happening tomorrow.
The game was afoot.

So this story is drama intensive, as the court is expected to be. Betrayals, alliances, deaths at dinner parties. The whole medieval lot
I am looking for 6-8 writers who love detail, and work with entangling characters in romantic, political, platonic, complicated etc. relationships. Who are not afraid to write long posts and work closely with other writers
Despite the battles that will be happening in the kingdom of Francia, there will be little to do with them unless they directly influence the court life, which will be in a power battle all its own
Characters can be Francs or ambassadars from other courts, though it might be easier to just stay in this specifc, court.
I have not studied much of this specific courts history so I am not expecting accuracy…I’m allowing witches and such so…accuracy not in my top 10.
Though, obviously your character is not going to be driving a mini cooper into the gardens with a blue tooth in his ear and a chefboyardee.
If you want to control more than one character, after you have been accepted, and we will discuss. it would certainly add more flare to the story.
No german or french etc is needed for this story. If anything ever is done in any language but English in the scenes, there will be translations.
To add to diversity, please make your own strength/weakness/character/subplot cards. Makes it more realistic as each character is there own.
Magic? Demons? Contracts? YESSSSSSSSSS go for it.
None of the main characters will be magical or anything of that nature, all humans ect. But wanna make a deal with a demon or meet a witch go for it.
