It’s been a century since the Event (ominous capital letter). The Event was the apocalypse, on that point there’s no disagreement, but sources differ on what exactly it entailed. Some say it was a bomb. Others say it was a magical ritual gone horribly wrong. Others still insist that it was some combination of the two.
Half the planet is a wasteland, and the rest is divided up between humanity’s last great Coven and the mindless robot hordes of the murderous Mainframe. Horrible otherworldly things roam the wastes but not to worry, the robots keep shooting them. Even monstrous abominations from another dimension fair badly against stompy tanks with feet.
The Coven sets out to stop the Mainframe’s grand plan: to awaken the Behemoth, a war machine from Before. There’s only one! But it’s apparently capable of killing entire planets. The Coven has only their wits and a handful of pre-apocalyptic artifacts. Oh, and magic. Obviously.
[Think Gamma World, Rifts, Shadowrun, even a little superhero stuff. Fantasy/apocalyptic fiction of your choice: helpings of silly crossover stories combined with the odd serious dramatic moment!
Fighting the Mainframe as well as the innumerable new threats that sprung up in the wake of the Event. The cast has magic users, warriors, maybe even robots that, if not actively friendly towards humans, at least hate the Mainframe as much as they do.]
