This is a Cinderella story but with a contemporary twist, set in modern-day high school. Our intended target audience is directed towards those that can relate to having some form of experience with prom/teenage love. Our exposition starts off by introducing our archetypes: Jack, Steve, and Max who play the jocks as well as Marissa and Dexter, the destined lovers of the story. Scene one begins as Max, Steve, and Jack corner one of the most popular teens in school, Marissa at prom. She hesitates to make much conversation with them as she possesses a strong distaste for rowdy, flamboyant jocks. She soon realizes that she feels very uncomfortable and irritated and migrates towards the other end of the dance floor. The second scene then transitions into Marissa finding her way towards Dexter, who is off in a corner of the dance room and a conversation ensues. Marissa finds that she is interested and attracted to Dexter and his personality as she tells him that she is cold. Dexter, the chivalrous gentleman he is, offers Marissa his jacket, but he forgets that he has an assignment due in an hour and rushes home. The final scene prompts Marissa to look for Dexter at school the next day to return the jacket. From this moment on, their newfound romance emerges after they meet once again.
