Fifteen years have passed since the bloody war that was the war of flame and Enthrium now welcomes a coming golden age. The stubborn race of men that saw its darkest hours during the war had since rebuilt their mighty capital even more magnificent than it had been before. The elves of the self proclaimed Sindarin home had long past calibrated their victory and the remaining of their kin had settled down within Enthrium due to the blessings that a sturdy bond to allies often brings, and they too began to grow even in this short time. The last of the tribal warriors of the north and even their fabled prince had found rest within the confines of the once war torn nation. The Children of Dura Dan, the cause and almost the victors of the war, had been forced into hiding. Most of those still loyal to their cause had been hunted down and slaughtered for their deeds, a few finding themselves having to adapt to a new identity within the halls of their enemies in fear for their lives.
All seemed peaceful, all were content. Innovation and inspiration had grasped all who took advantage of these peaceful years, what more could one ask for? Unfortunately it is true that peace does not favor all. Those who made a living as heroes among the helpless and afraid had already seen their praise, had received their recognition, their pay, their women, and their wine, but that had long run out. Many men from every corner of the realm were now next to homeless and now wandered the streets of the fabled capital of man, Endermore, in hopes of finding whatever odd jobs could be found.
This brings us to Dorwin, a student of religion, history, mythology, and as he would say himself “all things pertaining to man, and our forefathers.” It has been said that he thinks he has found something, something dramatically important to man, and possibly even the epic war of flame that had engulfed the realm so long ago. He has sent for adventurers, heroes, magicians, and fighters to come to his aid to assist in the confirmation of this find.
Word has spread through Endermore of the kings ransom he would pay for the information he seeks, other than this it is only known that if interested, a hero must only meet him in the “We Blew Inn” the night of the fifth of Frost Front for further information.
Immediate History (valuable for character creation reference.)
The war of flame
The war of flame began nearly seventeen years ago during the age of Thaldure, lasting just over two terribly bloody years. The objective of the war from the Motives of the Children of Dura Dan was to bring to pass their demonic god’s reign over Enthrium and the baptism of those who would stand against him in fire. The ending of the war was in sight almost as soon as it had started.
Only months after the Children of Dura Dan had received their Divine revelation concerning the babyish of flame a portal was opened to spill forth the spawn and army’s of Dura Dan himself. The most feared by men was given the name of the one horned demon.
The one horned demon served the purpose of leading those loyal to Dura Dan’s cause in conquest. With his guidance they were able to nearly destroy the Nord- like race of wild men across the northern rim of Enthrium. From there they continued their conquest into the heart of the kingdom until they achieved all one hundred men women and children needed as sacrifice for the coming of Dura Dan.
The war would have ended there if Thurn Iron Spliter, Nieve, and Aludove had not disrupted his plans by killing the one horned demon, freeing the subjects of sacrifice from their fate, and binding the army’s of Enthrium under one banner to drive back the mighty forces of a god.
This mighty army was headed by Bruce, King of Winterstone, Sephram Gordath, Lord to the remaining Sindarin Elves and Thaldure the stalwart, King of the Army’s of Endermore. This army of men and elf was able to bring the remaining hordes under Dura Dan to their knees.
