The Civil War ended with the detonation of the N-Bomb in Nashville. Both the Union and Confederacy had galvanic weapons programs, both employed the wildest of European inventors, neither side took credit for the weapon that ended the war and forever changed not just America, but the world.
The industrialized East recovered quickly, but the West was left to flounder and suffer until the 1860s had nearly ended. It was President Grant who formed the Bureau of Reclamation, dedicated to bringing the rule of law back to the states that had been sundered by the power of galvanic technology.
Scouts had reported that many of the communities out West had survived, isolated pockets of humanity, flickers of light in a demon-haunted world of tinpot despots and those twisted by the N-Bomb’s energies. The West will be retaken, in time, when the country is strong enough for another protracted military campaign.
Until then, there’s the Bureau. Dedicated or desperate men and women who delve deep past the Mississippi to bring to the shattered West the one thing they need more than anything else… hope.
In Galvanic Reclamation you play members of the United States Bureau of Reclamation, patrolling the apocalyptic American West to protect those who still live there from the bandits, criminals, and the Twisted - former men who were forever altered by the energies of the N-Bomb, monsters who prey on the normal.
