The lies and affectations
Sensations
We’re winning til the curtain’s coming down
When the Big Quake of 2045 hit, turning the western states into an island, local government saw an opportunity to finally secede. The States proper had a vice grip on the world, with High Sovereign President Clarissa Burgess having a stranglehold on healthcare, trade, and the military, and much of the country has become a police state.
The secession of California, Oregon, Washington and Nevada, christened “Cascadia”, was split into five areas to make the new country easily manageable. Washington was dubbed Laurentia. Oregon became Linkenshire. Northern California, Astoria. Coastal and part of Southern California, Pacifika. The remainder of SoCal and Nevada became known as Angelike.
The new state rapidly fell apart economically, having been thrust into being with no solid plan or infrastructure. Gangs quickly took over, some cities became almost as corrupt and militant as the States. Some localized governments put their foot down on the crime, some just let it run wild.
And then there’s Bat Country.
What used to be Las Vegas, the city that never sleeps, is now a decrepit mess, but it has in no way lost its flair for being Sin City. Many gangs run here, operating out of repurposed casinos. The main gangs operate out of the Excalibur, New York New York, Tropicana, and the MGM Grand, and these four factions have built an uneasy alliance, living favor to favor. When a key player in the truce goes missing, tensions run high. You will be playing a gang member of some sort. You can be a part of the truce or of another gang, but you all have the same ultimate goal. This truce is good for business, and it’s good for keeping your heads. Find the man. Alive and in good health. Your one mission. Failure is not an option.
But as risky as it is, you take it on.
Gambling never scared a good BlackJacker away.
Not in Bat Country.
