Black and Blue
Gang wars in San Francisco have made Blue investigations challenging for Vice and BCU investigators alike, and everyone’s hands are full trying to figure out who is dealing what, when and where throughout the City by the Bay.
Two of the larger organizations are rumored to be working a truce, as a means to joining forces and edging out some of the more troublesome, smaller influences, but intel is scarce. Whats more, someone keeps tipping the players off and neither local LEOs nor BCU agents can get a leg up on what could turn out to be a win for law and order. Trust has become a thing of the past, and the powers that be are sick and tired of being run in circles.
Your Team
Sent to the City by the Bay as a strategic operations team, your BCU unit is unknown to locals - a necessary evil to overcome the almost too friendly rivalries between law enforcement and the gangs.
Your Mission
Identify the organizations moving to join forces and, if possible, shut down the organizations and bring in the leadership (and anyone we’ve got warrants on already).
World Information from the template
Blue Gene is a hard-boiled crime drama and procedural, hovering in the space between CSI and The Wire, but with a twist: the backdrop is Los Angeles, fifty years from now, and the crime that gets the biggest press is the illegal resequencing of your genetic structure.
The Blue, as they call it on the streets, is society’s most dangerous weapon and its worst drug. Forget explosives and armor-piercing rounds. Imagine what a human being can do if they’re literally bulletproof and can punch things with the force of a shotgun blast. Forget heroin or cocaine. Imagine how long a dealer can keep someone on the hook by making sure they no longer age.
But the Blue may also be humanity’s greatest boon. A certain remedy to some of our worst diseases and maladies. The end of congenital anomalies. The key to the most idealized human form possible, operating at the pinnacle of physical and mental faculties. Many people say that the Blue should be legal, that the benefits outweigh the costs, even as newsfeeds broadcast daily evidence of the horrors caused by its misuse.
Which side of the law will you be on?
