Life is made up of meetings and partings. That is the way of it. You are certain you will never forget Taylor, but at the moment you are wondering if you actually knew him. You were expecting to be the only one attending his funeral, but the strangers standing by clearly believe themselves to be in the right place. Taylor, to his fashion, had prepared for this moment as he had prepared for every other moment in his life; the priest and plot had been pre-arranged, with everything paid for and nothing for you to do but stand by and observe. Nothing to do but contemplate how he had saved you, and how much you owe him, debts that, it now seems, can never be repaid.
And just who the hell are these other people?
An Urban Fantasy setting; think Dresden Files and White Wolf games (then promptly forget about them). The world at large doesn’t know or accept the things that go bump in the night, and most people wouldn’t know a werewolf if it chewed their face off (which, it just so happens, werewolves are known to do). You are the in-between. The duality of your life might lean one way or another, but for the moment you exist in both worlds, this one, and the one that most people don’t seem to be able to see.
