Heroes — even those with astonishing abilities — have been in our midst from time immemorial. But in the 1980s, instances of those abilities began multiplying. And as they did, people began using those abilities for personal gain at the expense of others — the first supervillains. Not long after, people with a different idea about how their abilities should be used began showing themselves, and the Modern Age of Heroes was born.
It’s now 2019, and superpowered individuals have been out in the open for a generation. As governments continue to come to grips with how to handle them, those individuals continue to do what their inspiring forbears have done.
This is the story of a handful of people with superpowers and their struggle to do the right thing against the backdrop of one of the world’s most eclectic cities: San Francisco.
