A band of companions treks through a light forest in early morning light. They are a scout team for the army of Telmythrin, a large nation at war with the neighbouring nation, Yvenere.
The scouts donned light leather for their quick espionage mission to the enemy encampment. They left behind an army of trebuchets, catapults, steel donned cavalry and infantry, a plethora of archers, all led by the King of Telmythrin, Gederun Rockford. They march tomorrow against a massive army of knights, not known for their skill but with an advantage of numbers.
The scouts were unsure about their mission. Actually, they were unsure about the entire war. Gederun was a greedy monarch waging war with anyone who did not submit to his rule. Yvenere was a land abundant with lush riches and the Queen was reluctant to submit.
Nonetheless, Gederun had sent a party of three, his best archer, his personal sorcerer, and a volunteer. He had summoned them to his tent the night before and delivered their mission, saying not to return until they had a significant advantage.
So the band had left early that morning and were roughly half way to the enemy encampment.
