Setting.
It is amazing how quickly it all fell apart. There was a flash in the sky, and all the power went out. Phones stopped working, radios went dead. They say that any society is only three square meals away from anarchy- most places lasted at least that long, but before the week was out, many streets had become battlefields. People who had never raised a hand in violence were more than willing to kill to protect and provide for their loved ones.
The police were no help. Those that chose to stay on the streets protecting the public instead of protecting their own were cut down by the wave of desperate humanity.
Within a few months, the population was a fraction of what it was. Some families had formed into small communities for protection, but many survivors walked the land, always hungry, doing whatever was needed to live. Some would hunt, some would steal, some would kill.
By the time the power came back on, society was gone. In many places, the only rule was the rule of might. Roaming gangs of vicious, sometimes cannibalistic bandits travelled the lands. taking whatever and whoever they wanted. One such gang is about to find that their prisoners are a bit of handful.

Theme.
Surviving the end of the world. Will the characters go out kicking and screaming, or accept the final days with quiet dignity? Or perhaps this is not the End, but the start of something new.
I will be dipping into all the different Post Apocalyptic pools, so expect the supernatural to show up later, but at the start it will be closer to “real world” PA stories, like Mad Max, The Postman, etc.
Mood.
The nature of the plot will call for a rather bleak and sombre tone, but as with all things, humour may help us get through the dark times.
Characters.
Things changed so quick that most people still think of themselves in terms of their former, ordinary lives- Bankers, postmen, IT specialists, etc. But many are finding that they need to dig deep to find the skills needed to survive the new world. Everyone has family and friends out there somewhere, but they are not with you at this time.
All characters will start as prisoners of a gang of cannibal raiders.
Player characters are welcome to be know to each other at the start of the game.
Style.
Third person, present tense.
Rules. Narrative control belongs to everyone. The focus is on story first. You may take minor control of other characters in your move, but be respectful. Likewise, be flexible about any small liberties that others may take with your character. We are all here to be entertained. You do not have to play a card to make a move, and can add to the story at any time. If a characters actions are disruptive to the story, I will request an edit.
Speed. Scenes will go until I want them to end. If you don’t make a move, that is not a problem. If you make five moves in a row, I will probably ask you to step back for the next scene. If two characters make the scene their own, then I am okay with that.
Cards. The selection available is just an example. Feel free to make your own. Please use pictures.
