Or so the saying goes. It’s not so easy to be squeaky when the punishment for such is death.
In a land dominated by man, non-humans have been hunted to near extinction. However, they still exist in certain pockets of the world, hidden away from human eyes. However, that doesn’t mean that they are leaving peaceful lives. River nixes are finding their waters polluted, ancient shi packs have less and less forest to hide in, and the open-ocean mermaids live in fear of being dragged up in fishing nets and dissected alive.
However, not all hope is lost. Despite most of humanity’s hostility towards non-humans, rumors circulate of the king’s head adviser being sympathetic towards all living beings, humans or not. Perhaps he would be able to sway the king to pass laws with hidden benefits…
Unfortunately, finding him and securing an audience with him is no easy task. Non-humans only know that he lives within the capital; they would have to rub shoulders with humans simply to find out where he is, much less actually locate him and meet him beyond the eyes of others. Regardless of species, all non-humans will have to use all of the tools in their arsenal (both violent and not) to complete their task.
