There is a world outside your window, one beyond corporate politics and daydreams. It is a place where dreams are real, where nightmares are reality, and where the dark listens.
In this world you can see it for what it really is, you just have to look. It rests between the pages of faith and fear, love and hate, and rides on consequences. It’s always been here, waiting for us to discover. In our hearts and imaginations, we dream of galaxies far away and uncharted mysteries to take us away from our windows. It only takes consequence to realize it.
Here in this veil, there are men and women who stand against it, not because it’s inherently evil, but because we’re not ready yet. Those involved can see this through mankind’s actions of war, in our corruption of life, and the destruction of everything in the false name of prosperity. We’re agents of consequence, but all we can do is learn - and hope.
Anivale represents the shadow to our world’s light; shadow is not black, it’s gray, and gray is a balance of black and white.
This story puts you, a man or a woman, at the ending years of World War 2 and the onset of new horizons. Technology begins to make ground work towards ascension, and the world itself starts to climb out of the trenches. On this rich historical backdrop comes our fictional world of Anivale, a place for the mysterious.
Creatures of the night are real, and the horrors and monstrosities of folklore begin to surface potential truths. Ways to communicate with the beyond start to popularize from science fiction and horror novels, but we know the truth: it’s always been there.
The world does an extraordinary job at keeping itself hidden, but like the stories you’ve heard - there are no assurances. You belong to one of these stories, and maybe you revel in it, maybe you despise it, but there’s no going back. You take a step forward and reach out to the night, and it reaches back.
