>> PREMISE <<
Vibrant red and orange trees sway with the gentle winds in the Royal Botanic Gardens, its leaves falling away with the last few days of autumn. The warmth of the sunlight from the midday sun offsets some of the chill. The even-paced city is relaxed as usual, its people doing their daily rituals. By all indications, it’s a good boring day.
Then, the sky rains fireballs.
One by one, buildings and streets are reduced into flames, ash and rubble, each explosion drowning out the screams of the panicked crowd. There’s no where to hide…meteors the size of footballs and Mini Coopers are plummetting down onto the city of Melbourne, wreaking havoc and destroying everything in its path. Within minutes, any semblance of order and authority vanishes from the city. It’s clear: help is not coming.
The year is 2014, and you’re in (or nearby) Eureka Skydeck, the tourist observatory on one of the tallest residential buildings in the world, when the meteor shower started. This is only the beginning…

(I used to have a lot more info in here, but a good friend of mine explained that it’s intimidating, and that the Wiki link is adequate…)
>> CHARACTER SETUP <<
You can be anyone you want, as long it’s believable. Heck, you can be the President of the United States, as long as you’re at Eureka Tower and you can sell it to me! Just remember that after this event, who you were may not necesarily be who you are afterwards.
Additionally, you don’t have to be a tourist in the Skydeck at the start of the story. You can be anyone (penthouse resident, tower staff, thief casing a joint, athlete climbing the stairs, window cleaner, restaurant chef, etc) you want. As long as you’re at floor 80 and above.
To ensure there are no misunderstandings, the Nature card should show the character’s nature just before the apocalyptic event. I’ll be using Asset cards extensively in this game to keep track of a character’s current “job” in the story.
I have made a bunch of example cards (Nature, Strength, Weakness, Subplots) to help inspire your character creation…if you need any. While you certainly can use those cards, I also encourage that you customise some or all the cards (even if it’s just to change the flavour text). Of course, at the end of the day, I will pick the set of characters I believe will work best together in this journey, regardless of the “originality” of the cards.
Character submission is currently closed! It may open again in the future should anyone ahem dies. Thank you ALL for submitting characters!
