“I know not with what weapons World War III was fought, but World War IV was definitely fought with big fucking bombs.”

The year is…well, no one really knows. The bombs have dropped. The world was torn asunder. And what was left…well, let’s not even get into that. But as things go, time went on. Earth regrew. In time, civilization began to grow anew. But what emerged could hardly be recognized by the people of the pre-war society.
In time, people emerged from the few shelters that survived the fall. What they discovered was, to put it mildly, beyond their wildest expectations. Undaunted, many came out into the new land, hoping to make new lives for themselves. It wasn’t easy, but in time, old wounds began to heal.
Our story starts off in the small town of Dusty Trail, in a land once known as the Mojave. Here multitudes of lowly individuals have gathered to eke out lives for themselves. Far from the reach of the Brotherhood of Thought, they lead a quiet existence. But some folks will never be satisfied with such quaint living, and will long to seek out adventure wherever they may find it…
All right, folks, so this is my first attempt. The setting is primarily ripped from old TSR Gamma World products, with a lot of flavor from the original Fallout game stirred in for good mix. As such, the setting is dark, but the aim is for a lighthearted game. So expect a lot of gallows humor and pop-culture references that no one may get but me. Feel free to play along, but when acting in character, remember that this isn’t a cartoon and silliness will provoke appropriate responses.
