The small city of Sedbergh in Cumbria is home to the most second-hand book stores in the UK and about 3 000 people. It is also home to a small group known as Addicts Anonymous.
Not being a big enough city to support several groups for people struggling with their personal demons, local psychologist Vanessa Smith set up the combined group as a safe place for discussion for all members. She presides over the group, offering a thoughtful ear and sage, trained advice.
Unfortunately, Vanessa was recently in a car accident and will be unable to attend the meetings for some time. Not wanting to lose their support network, the group have decided to keep meeting as normal, Monday night, 6:30, Sedbergh People’s Hall Conference Room.
This is meant to be a fun sort of game. I imagine that these people have nothing in common, other than this group and that half of the time they meet to make each other miserable and Vanessa is usually there to sort out the fights. But while the cat’s away…
Maybe now is the time to start dating that sex addict you had your eye on…
Maybe now you can check out that new bar with the imported rum without Vanessa’s damned questioning…
Maybe now your can crack open that Nigella Lawson cookbook and make those dishes that have been haunting you in your dreams…
Maybe now you can tell these whinging cry-babies what it is like to have a REAL addiction, not their made-up nonsense.
Each scene will be the next week’s meeting. In your first post of the new scene, you should put in what your character has been up to since the last meeting. Feel free to discuss your character ‘off-screen’ interactions in the commentary.
I love colourful language as long as it is not used as punctuation and most other things that you may want to get up to as long and it wasn’t in the Hostel movies.
4-5 players. You can use your cards or mine. Please put some art on them and have a character pic. I makes the whole thing look a lot nicer and shows a bit of effort. I am new but hopeful of having some fun with this.
