This is a continuation of another Storium A Vampire Story - Part 1
Story
The Prince of Boston is missing, possibly dead. For many decades he held the city as a closed territory enforced by a small number of powerful vampires in his family. That era is over.
Vampires have flocked to the city seeking every kind of opportunity… to gain power, form relationships, and build a vibrant underground vampire social life with art, parties, clubs and congenial feeding opportunities. As the incredibly conservative and private regime of the former Prince releases it’s stranglehold on vampire activity and information, select mortals are gaining unprecedented access to and knowledge of their existence and community.
No one is sure what became of several of the powerful vampires in the former Prince’s court, but so far they have not stepped forward to object or assert authority. The courtiers who did remain fell to playing power games in their attempt to ascend the throne. The power vacuum attracted a particularly old and powerful vampire from overseas. Jahan al’Benir is all too familiar and related in suprising ways to the other vampire luminaries of Boston. It seems to be a very small world after all.
The unexpected and unfortunate demise of the Prince’s heir apparent, Anastasie d’Estouville, led to a power vacuum. Anastasie was discovered to be mentally unbalanced and a serial murderer who had to be made extinct to protect both the mortal and vampire community. In the end she was executed by her own fledgling, the vampire Enforcer Iris, but not before claiming the life of Iris’s mortal paramour Elanna. The Duchess’s death has rocked everyone in the community to the core, most especially her fledgling daughter Roxelana. The Marshall Carlos Abello’s competence has been called into question since he failed to discover her misdeeds sooner. Jahan al’Benir seems poised to take up the throne without fanfare or opposition.
It is a time of change and adjustment, centuries old relationships are in question, a few mortals have gained intimate knowledge of the vampires during this time of upheaval and Jahan seems comfortable with committing the formerly cardinal sin of drawing mortals into the vampire’s inner circle… and still no one knows what became of Prince Stephen.
What new challenges will the Boston vampires be faced with? Will the new troubles come from within or outside the community?
Setting
The setting for our vampire story is modern day, mostly real but slightly fictionalized Boston. The truth of the city is sometimes twisted to meet the needs of our Vampire characters.
This story picks up Spring 2015.
Canon
Here are some things I hold true about Vampires in this story…
- Vampires desire experiences, things and people. They will take action to get what they want. Ecstatic states may result for either or both parties when a Vampire gets what they want.
- Vampires do have modest fangs, they do bite, and they do drink blood. They can eat and drink a little bit of other things too, it just doesn’t serve them or taste as good as blood. The older a vampire gets, the less they can consume anything other than blood.
- Sunlight hurts Vampire eyes, mesmerism doesn’t work in daylight, they get severe instant sunburns that take awhile to heal, and they are overall just more vulnerable when the sun is out. The higher the sun in the sky, the more apt a Vampire is to simply fall into a comatose sleep wherever they are. Young vamps conk out with the sunrise. Older vamps can stay up longer. Standing out unprotected in full sun will result in immolation.
- If your Master dies, you will know it, and it hurts. It may make you emotionally miserable depending on your relationship and bond with them, but it won’t automatically kill you.
- Conversion to being a vampire requires being very near death and drinking the vampire’s blood.
- A really thirsty Vampire will eventually lose control and act out violently and behave in risky ways to get a drink. Even the oldest vampires get thirsty.
- Some level of secrecy and discretion must be maintained for the sake of Vampire safety and privacy. If the larger human society knew… well, who knows what might happen, but it wouldn’t be good for the Vampires.
Here is some stuff that this story Is Not:
- Not as gory as True Blood vampires.
- Not sparkly (or juvenile) like Twilight vampires.
- Not stuck in clans like Masquerade vampires.
- Not all evil like Buffy’s vampires.
- Not as angsty as Anne Rice vampires - but that being said these are my favorite vampires overall.
- And there will be no werewolves. Or ghosts. Absolutely not. No other supernatural creatures, just Vampires and Humans.
Readers
Some other things our readers may be interested to know.
This story is basically a vampire soap opera.
All writers in this story will be self-identified as women / female in gender and 18 years of age or older.
Why all female writers? This is the continuation an experiment based on some of us having prior experience writing erotic fiction in mixed groups. We think that the all female writing group changes the way we approach writing collaborative ecstatica / erotica and we are really enjoying it. I think we end up writing for our own eye and that other women will enjoy reading it and everyone may be surprised at what goes on in women’s heads and desires and comes out on these pages.
