Update: If you apply to this story after this point, please only create a human character hostile to dragons or a dragon character Thanks.
Humans and dragons have coexisted in peace for nearly a hundred years. But recent events have shattered the peace almost to the breaking point. On a routine diplomatic visit, the dragon ambassador Celucia murdered crown prince Aravis of Athosse. No one knows precisely why, but the dragons are outraged at the actions of their heir and ambassador. The dragon king Revven has publicly vowed that Celucia will be punished for her actions, but she has not been seen since the incident.
Within dragon and human territories, factions squabble and maneuver for power and an end to the peace. Humans demand reprisal for their prince. They say Celucia was acting on the orders of the dragon leaders, and all out war is inevitable. The only way, they say, of making sure humans are not destroyed is to attack first.
Dragons say they have allowed humans too much power already and wish a return to the old days, when humans were nothing more than convenient food, or in very rare cases, keepers of dragons.
Unbeknownst to the humans, the dragon lord Revven has gathered the elders and together they have cast a curse upon Celucia, giving her a human form and exiling her from their ranks. She is now forced to live in the human world and reconcile her divided spirit. Alone and furious, she cries out for vengeance, and does her best to rally others to her cause.
Celucia will be an NPC, largely controlled by the narrator, though other characters will be able to dictate her actions as it makes sense for the story.
Guidelines
You may play as any race, though the main conflict is between dragons and humans, so they are expected to be most prominent. While dragons are diverse creatures, they are generally arrogant and haughty. They consider other races beneath them, and only work with other races when it benefits them to do so. I plan to play alternating scenes between dragon and human characters, except in cases where conflict arises. I am not sure of the best way to orchestrate pvp type combat with Storium, but we will figure out our options and go from there.
Looking for between 4 and 8 players. Feel free to customize nature, strength, weakness, subplot etc. cards as you like. Please read through the existing character’s info before applying. Try to create your character in such a way that it works well with, and challenges, the group dynamic for your race. If you choose a race that is not human or dragon, please include information about how your group views the conflict.
