Freeport is a fictional city located along the South East of Maine, a city full of mystery and unsolved crimes. The stories that have come from this city are made up of things that go bump in the night. Most believe there has to be a rational explanation for everything, they find themselves trying to apply reason at times when it does not apply. Paranormal activity and unexplained monsters are common phrases tossed around in Freeport and most consider it a trend that will die off rather quickly, but there are those that are humble enough to accept that they don’t know everything…You are one of those.
Thomas McGregor is an internationally known archaeologist, both rich and famous for finding the tomb of Ramesses VIII, an Egyptian pharaoh buried in the Valley of Kings.
Thomas spent a great deal of time and money pulling all he could from the tomb and leasing them museums all around the word.
He was named one of the richest bachelors in England at the age of 27. Shortly after Time Magazine released his available status Thomas met and married Kari Spellman.
The two had no children but were married for 23 years before before Kari became deathly ill for no clear reason at all. Thomas spent money hand over fist bringing in doctors from all around the world but none could find anything physically wrong with her. Thomas then turned to religious help believing his love was possessed. Without warning Keri died and the cause of death was never given. Thomas used his money to investigate her death and while he never was able to find it what he did find was just as mysterious and scary.
For this reason he has created and funded The IRMA Prjoect. IRMA (Investigation of Rare and Mysterious Activity) is small group of detectives that search out and investigate the things most people don’t believe in. The things that campfire stories are made up of. Some laugh at the project but Thomas has spent a lot of time and money finding those that work for him. Three detectives that he believes are special in their own right… The doors of this IRMA Project have only been open a few weeks now and little to no work has come across their desk but that doesn’t keep Thomas for contributing a great amount of funds to keep the study open.
