I love long, sweeping scene descriptions. People undersell the importance of describing weather, architecture, clothes, food… anything that can be made even remotely symbolic.

I don’t understand the appeal of characters who seldom make mistakes and seem to have everything under control. Not because it can’t be interesting, but because then they have nowhere left to grow…
