Etch

Bio

Hello! My name is Etch, and I have been role playing online for maybe 6-7~ years now. I consider role play to be a casual practice that is entertaining but also helps buffer my writing skills, but I find it difficult to enjoy role plays with extremely short posts. I’m rather new to the type of play style with cards and what not on Storium, but I’m happy to learn and I truly believe I will enjoy being on this site.

When role playing, I can write anywhere from 3-10 paragraphs per post, although I’m not entirely sure how that works here. My writing length and quality depends greatly on the length and quality of my partner’s writing, so keep in mind that you get what you give.

I honestly don’t have much else to say about my writing ability that isn’t role play-specific, so I’ll just move on to me.

I’m a high school student with a family, so I will be busy at times, but I should be relatively active most of the time. I tend to come and go on sites throughout the day, checking in to see if there’s anything to do before leaving and coming back a few hours later.

My favorite color is green and I greatly enjoy reading and writing. My favorite part of the process of writing is probably character development. I love delving into characters, but at the same time I like to develop my character as I play, so they grow with the story. Interestingly enough, I am a girl behind the screen but I enjoy playing male characters more than female characters. Not sure what’s up with that.

My favorite books at the moment would include the I Hunt Killers series by Barry Lyga, as well as The Selection by Kiera Cass. If you’ve read both of those books, or even heard of them both, you know that they are vastly different. I Hunt Killers is essentially about a serial killer who was arrested, leaving behind a teenage son with severe mental issues determined to use them to help capture other serial killers like his father. In The Selection, a group of teenage woman are ‘selected’ to come to the royal palace of a futuristic-medieval country known as Illea in order for the prince to choose a bride. Again, vastly different. You could say I have a wide variety of tastes.

I do, however, love drama. At least, I do when it’s on a page. I honestly can’t stand it in everyday life. (Can anyone?) However, I like to weave drama into the story so that it doesn’t seem out of place, so don’t worry too much just yet.

That being said, I’m not sure if there’s a character limit on this thing, but I don’t want to hit it, so I’m gonna leave here.

Cheerios are not British,
Etch~

P.S: I’m writing a story on Wattpad. Check it out here!
