“Hello there stranger. My name is Thatcher Scott. I’m a priest from the next town over. Pleased to meet you. Say I don’t want to take up too much of your time since you just got here but may I speak with you a little while? I appreciate that. What’s so great about Silent Hill? Isn’t this one of the most popular tourist destinations in the north east? A fine place for retirement? Or it’s general peace? No, that’s not it. Most come here for that, sure. Even fewer come here for other reasons, maybe that is the reason you’re here now?”

“Well, a long time ago, this place was once the spot of some ancient burial ground. Those that resided here could sense what was believed to be spirits that lived in or amongst the flora and fauna that surrounded Toluca lake. There’s no real account to what they had seen, only calling this place “The place of silenced spirits.” Natives here were eventually driven out by the colonists and over the next few years, they founded this town. Now I’m sure you’ve heard of some stories that have apparently occurred here like the drug trafficking scandal and possible cult activities but as far as I can tell, nothing of the sort remains. There are however unsolved mysteries of some who have gone missing here. Maybe you’ve heard of Francisca Flores? Fernando Marquez? Ring any bells? That doesn’t surprise me. No matter, I won’t take anymore of your time. Enjoy your stay.”

For whatever your reason, you decided to take a drive to Silent Hill, a small peaceful New England tourist town. After your interaction with the priest, you decided to head to bed from the long drive. The next day when you wake up, you notice something out of the ordinary, a thick fog outside your hotel window with no people nor vehicles driving up and down the road. The only thing that alarms you is the sound of a growing static coming from your cell phone.

With the remake of Silent Hill 2 heading our way, I wanted to bring Silent Hill to Storium. So what can you expect? This is a psychological survival horror story. Players can expect their characters to face their worst nightmares come to life in the thick fog and the truth.
