The groups on an exploratory mission to find new sources of element zero when they come across a totally new kind of star system. the stellar remnant is surrounded by a solar systems sized shell of room temperature nitrogen and oxygen. it’s a breathable atmosphere of unimaginable size filled with life floating in the 0g of space. The system is home to planet sized plant life and animals of every size. Many sapient cultures have developed in this floating expanse though the area is so wide that they defy cataloguing. what will contact with the outside universe mean for Niven’s star?
