Society as we know it fell generations ago. No one remembers how it happened, really… but as society collapsed and people died out, the remaining population was forced to re-examine their priorities. Were skills like reading and writing really necessary in a world where just coming across your next meal could be a challenge? Did your ability to fix a radio matter if batteries were in scarce supply?

As people slowly gave up the things that made humans “advanced” and regressed to basic survival, memories and knowledge of the Old World were lost, buried in the mausoleums of their old cities and towns. These places have become death traps to the average person: rarely fertile enough to support life for long, overgrown and populated with dangerous animals, and home only to the most brave and intrepid (or just plain stupid) of people.

Several generations have passed since The Fall, and now that people are slowly beginning to settle and find some semblance of stability again, the call is spreading for those brave, those few, those crazy to explore the ruins of the Old World and return with treasures in abundance. Books that have minimal damage have become coveted possessions of both collectors and scholars, old technology such as cell phones and remotes is examined and displayed in private collections. Working guns are hard to come by and ammunition is in short supply.

You are one of those rare souls that wants to brave life outside your Colony. Whether you’re out to explore, to find treasure and get rich, or to discover the secrets of the Old World, you can find your purpose by starting or joining an expedition in to the dangers of the Old World ruins!
