On the coast of Hell lies the port city of Fell Harbor. Ships bearing infernal sigils and those whose captains have procured mysterious, priceless Lotusheads—powerful artifacts that allow safe travel through the waters between Hell and our Sunlit World—crowd its harbors and docks; pirates haunt the seas, preying on both sides without discrimination; agents of the Black Law prowl the streets and sail the shipping lanes, eager to squash the criminal element beneath their gleaming boots; and bounty hunters stalk the living and the damned.

Escape from Hell is gran guignol horror fantastique during the golden age of piracy, set in Hell imagined as a baroque totalitarian state with grotesque, sado-masochistic inhabitants. Initially following a castaway navigating the perilous world of Hell in search of a way home, Escape from Hell will open up to new characters, at various turning points as necessary, to further the story.
