Welcome to the Welkin Isles. Rising high above the land of Gaeal, the Welkin Isles are made up of the mountain peaks that pierce the clouds. Since the land below is entirely uninhabitable, the only hope of salvation lies above the clouds. At least, that’s what the Church of the Firmament preaches. Humankind has lived–if not thrived–in the Welkin Isles for hundreds of years, but, recently, some controversial theories have arisen that contradict the reasoning behind the theocratic laws. Gaeal might actually be healing. It might be safe again. A certain wealthy–albeit somewhat eccentric–individual, one Curtix Alimond, is eager to know the truth and is willing to pay an absurd amount of money to fund an expedition that will take the bravest of adventurers beyond the clouds.
