It wasn’t the point where life began, though for many - it’s founders included -it often felt that way. No one could forget the life they’d led before arriving at the old converted complex of factory buildings they now called home. For some of the factory’s occupants, whether they wanted to or not their old lives would never be left behind. But one thing was true of all of them: in this place of brick and timber, of high ceilings and tumbled down ruins, they’d found a haven, a place to heal. Here, beside a roiling river the color of birch beer, they could begin to learn.
