The Munroe Estate was built in 1853 by Joseph Munroe for his budding family at the height of his success in agriculture. Unfortunately, that success was short lived, and tragedy would follow soon after the building’s conception.
After the death of Munroe, his wife, and his three children, the house stood empty for years, but time, as they say, has a way of making people forget. And so, the house saw it’s fair share of residents throughout the 1900’s, each living there briefly, each experiencing their share of misery and loss.
The Munroe Estate gained a reputation for being, among many things, haunted. Soon, it was abandoned for good, until Harry and Elizabeth Winslow bought it in 2010 and renovated it into a number of small apartments - because who could afford to live in a 12 bedroom house these days?
With none of the expected oddities taking place since they started accepting tenants, Harry and Elizabeth now hand wave the rumors that the place is haunted, or cursed, or any of that other mumbo-jumbo. Bad luck, that’s their theory. Bad luck that has turned.
Now, looking for somewhere comfortable, clean and accommodating with reasonable rent, you’ve found the Munroe Estate Apartments, and despite its colorful history, you’re a well educated individual who knows it couldn’t possibly have been the house that caused all that misery. Could it?
I’m looking for four players (possibly more, if the characters are incredibly strong) to live in the apartments of the Munroe Estate. This is a good old classic haunted house story with a bit of an Agatha Christie couch mystery woven into it. Live through the horrors, be they mild or terrifying, and solve the puzzles of the building’s past before it’s too late for you and your neighbors!
